Alessia grew up in Santa Barbara, California riding horses and competing with hunter jumpers. As a first-generation daughter of two German restaurateurs, Alessia cut her baby teeth in the kitchen. She worked her way up the ranks from an entry-level summer helper to an award winning Pastry Chef that now owns her own Patisserie & Cafe. She's applied that same work ethic that propelled her to greatness in the kitchen to her dog training.
It all began when she rescued a four week old puppy from Craigslist. Alessia knew nothing about dog training but her willingness to learn, resilience and leadership quickly propelled her to accomplishing the unthinkable. A level 2 PSA Championship with an off-breed, street breed rescue. Hazel, aka. The Craigslist Killa ⚔️ is the first and only female Pitbull to earn a PSA 2 title.
Name one thing everyone should experience in Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara is a destination location. I've grown up here and couldn't see myself being anywhere else. We have the most beautiful beaches, all the way up to the best hikes! Definitely have to spend a day enjoying nature, and finish in wine country. We're really spoiled here with great wine and food!
What songs are on the soundtrack of your life?
I'm a deep down country girl. Riding Roads by Dustin Lynch. It's definitely a small town song, reminds me of growing up in a small town and taking roads not many people do. I still continue to take "the road less traveled" and it really does make all the difference.
If your dogs could talk, what do you think they might say about you?
I think if Hazel could talk she'd tell me to trust the process, and take life slow. She'd also probably tell me to stop talking to her all the time!
What's your next goal?
My next goal for dogs is to train for a level 3 and maybe try some French Ring. Longer term, get a new puppy and see if I can do it all again.
